Pick-up and Drop-off
Camp starts at 8:30 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Campers can be dropped off and picked up in front of ETLC. It can be reached by approaching via 116 St. just north of 91st Ave. Turn east at the small blue ECERF sign and follow the road east until you see our check-in table. Instructors and other campers will be waiting for you! For a map of the area, click here. If you wish to park and see your child off, please use the Windsor Car Park, instead of leaving your vehicle on the roadside unattended. Windsor Car Park is just north of ETLC. DiscoverE is not responsible for any parking tickets issued. A customized parking permit which allows parking for 15 minutes during drop-off and pick-up and one hour for open house on Friday is available for purchase from U of A Parking Services. To purchase the parking permit, please click here. Information about the parking pass will be included in the Camper Welcome package that we will email you 3-4 weeks before your child's camp runs.
Supervision is provided for half an hour before camp starts and one hour after camp finishes, free of charge, with a late fee of $1/minute for every minute after 5:00pm.
Friday Open House
This is a chance for parents to come check out what their kids have done all week. Open house takes place every Friday at 4:00 pm. Parents can meet at the drop off/pick up point and will be directed to the Solarium on the 2nd floor of the ETLC building for a slideshow, then can follow their child to the camp room to view projects. Visitors can park at Windsor Car Park with the customized parking permit which can be purchased through U of A Parking Services prior to your camp week. Unfortunately, there is no parking available at the pick up/drop off point.
Campers will need to bring their own lunches every day except Friday, when pizza is provided. Campers in grades 7-11 will have the opportunity to go as a group to SUB to purchase lunch if they desire. In order to minimize any allergic reactions, we ask that campers refrain from bringing any nut products for lunch or snack.
Registration and Payment Policy
Registrations are not completed and will not be processed until payment and consent forms are received. Methods of registration and payment are as follows:
- Online registration with credit card information
- Faxed registration with credit card information
- Mail registration with credit card information or cheque*
- In-person registration with cash, credit card, or cheque* payment
* We do not accept post-dated cheques.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Camp Registration can be cancelled at no cost up to two weeks prior to your chosen camp start date. Cancellations during the two weeks prior to chosen camp start date will be charged a $75 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations once a camp is in progress.
In order to ensure the health and safety of all DiscoverE campers and staff, we reserve the right to send sick campers home. Any camper displaying flu like symptoms including headache, chills, cough followed by fever, loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhea, muscle aches and fatigue, runny nose, watery eyes and sore throat may be asked to leave camp. When symptoms are first noticed, the instructors will notify parents and disclose our sick camper policy. The camper will usually be allowed to remain at camp, likely in the sick bay for the rest of the work day until the parent/guardian can pick them up. If the camper returns to camp the following day and continues to display symptoms of a contagious flu virus, DiscoverE will phone the parent and ask them to remove the camper and withdraw from camp for the remainder of the week. If DiscoverE sends a camper home when less than half the camp week has been completed a full refund will be issued. If more than half the camp has been completed (Thursday morning and onward), a 50% refund will be issued.
